Thanks so much for your interest in my blog. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to stay home with my children for the past 11 years. My daughter is in the tween stage now (so far so good) and my son is 10 going on 21. I can’t forget about our mini-goldendoodle, Rizzy. He’s kind of naughty but extremely entertaining. I’m grateful to my husband who supports and challenges me to go outside of my comfort zone. He has always been supportive of everything I do and life is so much better with him. Being home with the kids and supporting my husband’s career has been rewarding in many ways. It’s also allowed me time to sharpen my writing skills and create a few short stories, one that I’m proud to say was even published. My background is Mass Communications/Public Relations and Journalism. After interning at a small market TV station I found out quickly that broadcast journalism was not for me. My husband has the proof locked away on old VHS tapes. Sales was more my style, and I enjoyed some great years as a medical device representative. After being out of corporate America for the past 11 years, I’ve been itching to write and share my love of fashion. This blog is exciting and fun for me.
Home for me is the scenic St. Croix River Valley in western Wisconsin. It’s a great place to live and helped inspire my love of fashion. The river valley is home to historic river towns full of trendy boutiques with one-of-a-kind items…a perfect fit for the one-of-a-kind individuals that stroll up and down the streets. This area offers the best of both worlds, local fashion is plentiful but big city fashion and the Mall of America are just a hop, skip and jump away.
Through the years many neighbors and friends have asked where I find my clothing. I’ll be honest, I have my favorites! After the kids were born, I vowed to never let myself get sloppy and spend the day in sweats! That isn’t to say I don’t throw some yoga pants on in a mad dash to Target! Finding the right fit of jeans or that special top, even a great bracelet can change a mood and brighten a day. I’m a firm believer in finding simple, quality basics that you can have for more than one season. I believe you can be conservative but still have fun with it…keeping things fresh and flashy without being trashy! The goal is for you the reader to find inspiration, a touch of humor and fun ideas for everyday. Quality over quanity and there is NO age limit to looking good. Please e-mail me if you have any questions or thoughts. I love hearing from you! Enjoy!
