This combination medication is used to treat melasma on the face. Melasma is a condition of dark patchy areas on the skin, especially on the cheeks and forehead. It sometimes occurs with hormone changes. This product contains 3 different kinds of medication.

Tri-Luma (fluocinolone acetonide 0.01%, hydroquinone 4%, tretinoin 0.05%) is a combination of three medications (a steroid, a skin bleaching agent, and a form of vitamin A) used to treat melasma (dark skin patches) of the face.
How long does it take for Tri-Luma to work?
It may take up to 4 weeks to notice significant improvement. However, this medication is not recommended for long-term use (e.g., longer than 8 weeks) without stopping the medication for short periods. Inform your doctor if your condition persists or worsens after 4 weeks of treatment.
Will Tri-Luma work for dark spots?
After 8 weeks of treatment with Tri-Luma®Cream, most patients had at least some improvement. Some had their dark spots clear up completely (38% in one study and 13% in another), but most subjects had their melasma recur after treatment was discontinued.
