How to Quickly Advance in Level When Using Enchantments in Skyrim
Enchanting is a skill that is useful for every playstyle in Skyrim, and getting it to its maximum level isn’t as difficult as it may seem.

To get the most powerful Enchantments in the game, you need to reach Level 100 in Enchanting. This can be a tedious process, but it’s well worth it to min-max your boosts and gear to get there.
There is no one perfect way to level Enchanting in Skyrim. In addition to armor that can improve one’s Enchanting ability, there are two Standing Stones whose effects can be combined for a whopping 35% boost to Enchanting leveling.
There are many ways to level Enchanting, but the most important thing is to enchant things. Holding onto a lot of Soul Gems and using the Soul Trap spell regularly will help you never run out of filled Soul Gems to use in leveling up the skill.
Stack XP Boosts As Much As Possible
- As a Mage, you’ll receive a 20% bonus to all mage-related skills, including enchanting. This bonus is amplified when using the Lover Stone with the Aetherial Crown, granting you a 35% increase in performance.
- All skills receive a 15% bonus when used with the Mage Stone and Aetherial Crown.
- Ahzidal’s set provides a 10% bonus to enchanting when the full set is equipped. The armor can be acquired in Solstheim.
- One passive ability of the Seeker of Sorcery class is the Black Book: The Sallow Regent. This book grants players access to custom-enchanted equipment and potions.
There are few sources of XP boosts in Skyrim, the main ones being from Standing Stones. Enchanting benefits from The Mage Stone, which grants a 20% boost to XP gain in Magicka-related Skills, and The Lover Stone, which increases XP gain for all skills by 15%.
Ahzidal’s Armor, which can be found in Solstheim, boosts Enchanting by 10% when the full set is equipped. This effectively increases Enchanting Skill performance by 35%.
Remove all enchantments from items you won’t be using.
The fastest and most efficient way to level Enchanting is to disenchant all of the items you’re not using. This will give you a lot of XP and let you imbue your enchantments onto new gear.
Weapons and Unique Items can be handy for display, but may not have any effect on other equipment. If a weapon cannot be Disenchanted, it means either the player already knows the effect or it is simply unable to be disenchanted. This tends to give multiple enchantment levels at once at low levels.
Once for each level, you should talk to an Enchanting Trainer.

Enchanting is a skill that players can train by visiting trainers and paying them money. This system allows players to raise their Enchanting skill by 5 each time they level up, as long as they have the gold to pay for training. It’s a good idea to continue training Enchanting while leveling up in order to get the most out of this system.
Sergius Turrianus is the only Enchanting trainer in Skyrim. He can only train players up to Enchanting 75, but Neloth or Hamal can train players to Level 90.

The Soul Gem is the best friend of the Enchanter. It can be used for both enchanting itself or refilling used Enchantments on drained weapons. Everything from Petty Soul Gems to Black Soul Gems can be used to imbue traits onto gear, and re-filling a weapon’s enchantment doesn’t contribute to the Enchanting skill, but they do weigh almost nothing and should be looted at every opportunity.
The Soul Trap spell is cheap, but enchanting your weapon with the Soul Trap Enchantment is much more effective at filling soul gems regularly. The best part is, if you don’t use them all at an Arcane Enchanter, filled soul gems can be sold for much more than their empty counterparts.
The cultivation of each variety of soul gem
Soul Gems can be farmed from enemies in the game world, either by visiting specific locations or by killing specific enemies. As you level up, the Soul Gems that drop will become stronger and stronger.
Soul gems are items that can be bought from merchants throughout Skyrim, though they are quite expensive. Two unique soul gems, The Black Star and Azura’s Star, function as reusable black and grand Soul Gems respectively. These can only be acquired as part of the Azura’s Daedric questline.
Harvesting Souls In Order To Create Each Soul Gem

Gathering Souls and filling Soul Gems is the key to leveling Enchanting quickly. There are some locations where souls of different types can be found more easily than others, but it mostly depends on your own level. For example, don’t wander into the wilderness if you need a Black Soul Gem filled.
If you don’t have the right Soul Gem for a given enemy, its trapped soul will instead fill a higher-level Soul Gem. Make sure to wisely choose which Soul Gems to use when fighting certain enemies, as their trapped souls can be more powerful if placed into the appropriate gem.
You should enchant every ordinary item you can find or purchase.
Enchanting requires three things to work: a Soul Gem, the chosen Enchantment, and a piece of gear to apply the Enchantment. It’s important to make sure you have some unenchanted basic gear so that you can level your Enchanting skills as quickly as possible, but if you’re serious about using enchantments efficiently then it’s worth investing in some of these vanilla items.
Item weight is not as important when enchanting an item, as the XP gained for Enchanting an item depends more on the power of the Enchantment, than the strength of the item. As such, daggers, short swords, helmets, boots and bracers are usually best choices to pick up due to their small inventory space requirements and variety of helpful (and valuable) bonuses they can be imbued with.
Wait until you have reached level 90 in Enchanting before reading any Skill Books.
Enchanting is a skill that can be learned by reading Skill Books, but it is best to avoid doing so until you can learn from other sources. At Level 90 no trainer in Skyrim can teach you anything new about Enchanting.
